My favorite story as a child was the "Paradise" story. And, it goes like this...
My mom told me she went to God in Heaven. And she said, “I came here to get a child.” And, God showed her a bunch of little angels (little children) lined up before her. And, there was this little angel with dark skin, skinny, and curly hair. And she looked to God and said, “God, I want THAT one!” And, God replied, “Oh no, Dora, this is my favorite angel and you cannot have it.” And then, my mom explained and demonstrated to me how she put her hands on her hips, and stomped her foot, and said, “Oh no, God, I am NOT leaving here without THAT angel!” Then God said, “Do you promise you are going to take good care of this angel?” She said, “Yes!” So God said, “Ok, you have it.” And….that was me!
To be continued…
This story was narrated to me by Gracie Santos.
